UCEMC lobbies are closed due to tornado damage and the pandemic. Bills may be paid at the drive-thru window. Payments for Putnam County UCEMC members are also being taken at the following bank locations until further notice:

 TVA Planned Outage for Jackson, Putnam, Overton, RESCHEDULED for June 6.

      The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has reset its plans to disconnect power to Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation members in Jackson County. Saturday, June 6, TVA will perform vital maintenance on its equipment. The outage will begin at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, and will continue for up to eight (8) hours into Sunday morning, June 7, for the following communities:

  • Town of Gainesboro,
  • Granville Highway,
  • Gladdice Highway,
  • York Highway,
  • Celina Highway,
  • Highway 56,
  • Jennings Creek Highway,
  • Indian Creek Road,
  • Haydenburg Ridge,
  • McCoinsville Road,
  • Sugar Creek,
  • Greenwood Ridge,
  • Booger Ridge Lane,
  • New Hope Road,
  • Roaring River Road,
  • Old Antioch Road,
  • Seven Knobbs Road.

  Brief Interruption

As a result of the recent tornado damage, a separate outage will briefly affect parts of Putnam and Overton counties as TVA makes permanent equipment repairs. The following communities can expect a brief interruption around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6

 UCEMC will take advantage of the outage to maintain its system.

"We regret any inconvenience TVA's planned outage may cause," says UCEMC General Manager Jimmy Gregory. "These repairs need to be made to ensure the reliability of TVA's and UCEMC's electrical systems."

In the best of circumstances, there may be only minutes to prepare for a potentially dangerous and damaging storm or widespread power outage. It’s helpful to know what you’ll need to quickly assemble an emergency outage/storm kit:

- Non-perishable food for the family, including pet food and drinking water, cooler with ice;
- Flashlight with fresh batteries;
- Cash and Credit Cards, identification;
- Medicine/prescriptions;
- Fully charged cell phone and charging cords to plug into automobile; gasoline;
- First aid kit;
- Matches and lighters, candles, pocket knife;
- Battery-powered radio with extra batteries;
- Battery-powered clock;
- Pet supplies including carrier, leash, ID collars, etc.
